Our goal is to develop strong foundation for precalculus. The curriculum covers Algebra II topics as well as algebraic topics from Precalculus Honors.

  • Quadratics: Quadratic equations and the quadratic formula, completing the squares, word problems
  • Inequalities: Quadratics and cubic inequalities, rationals, radicals, absolute value
  • Functions: Domain and range, inverses, composite, odd and even, increasing and decreasing, graphing
  • Polynomials: Polynomial division, remainder theorem, factor theorem, rational root theorem, zeros of polynomials, rational functions, graphing polynomials and rational functions, Manipulating graphs using shifts, stretches, symmetry & reflections
  • Exponents & Logarithm: Exponential and logarithmic functions and their properties, solving exponential and logarithmic equations, applications of exponential and logarithmic functions
  • Sequences: Arithmetic, geometric , harmonic Sequences, and arithmetic-geometric sequences
  • Complex Number: Operations, trigonometric and polar form, absolute value, powers and roots of complex numbers
  • Conics: Parabolas, ellipses, hyperbolas, circles, conic sections
  • Matrices & Determinants: Linear systems of equations in three variables, application of linear systems, solving nonlinear systems, operations with matrices, Gauss-Jordan method, evaluating determinants, using inverses of matrices to solve linear systems, systems of inequalities, linear programming
